Pakistan has already won the five-match ODI series, winning the first three matches. However, the series score is 3-1 now.
Pakistan scored 248 runs after being put into bat first. They lost nine wickets in their allotted quota of 50 overs, leaving the Caribbean to chase 249 runs.
The Windies started their innings with openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LMP-Simmons-c1843 and KA Edwards. Edwards had to return to the pavilion on a duck, not having scored any run, Windies had lost their first wicket with 1 run on the board.
After losing an early wicket, the Windies were under pressure however, the next man was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 who built a solid partnership of 56 runs with Simmons.
Not long after, Bravo was caught by Tanvir Ahmad off Junaid http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 after scoring 21 off 26.
However, the two wickets did not deter Simmons who kept the stone rolling, he played some spectacular shots including four boundaries and three sixes.
Ramnaresh Sarwan was up next after Bravo’s demise, Sarwan contributed 28 off 56.
Simmons and Sarwan built a solid partnership of 75 runs and took their team’s total to 132 for the loss of three. Sarwan was caught by Junaid khan off the bowling of Mohammad Hafeez.
Simmons, who was playing exceptionally for his side, was the next to follow Sarwan back to the pavilion after being caught behind on 76 off 70, smashing four boundaries and a six.
After Simmons’ dismissal, rain interrupted play and finally the match was decided on the basis of D/L method, awarding the Windies a 1-run victory.
