West Indies will not be taken lightly asserts http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Prior-c1984 – Cricket News Update
England’s wicket-keeper in the longest format, Matt Prior, is wary of the threat posed by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in the upcoming three match Test series. Prior asserts that England will not take the tourists lightly, as they know that
getting complacent, even for a while, can haunt them in the end.
Speaking to media ahead of the first Test match between the two sides, starting from Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Lord’s, London, Prior said, “This is a very tough series in its own right. I think if you get complacent or take things
easy in Test cricket, or international sport in general, you get bitten pretty quickly. There's no room for that in our dressing room.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, and would have relinquished their number
one Test status had it not been for the win at Colombo.
Prior hoped that things will be different for England in the summer, considering they will be playing at home. The wicket-keeper held that the Poms are back on track after levelling the series with Lankans.
“It's fantastic to be back at Lord's. It's always a magical place to come. This first series of the summer will be a tough prospect. We had a tricky winter. But we came out on top in Colombo, which was a fantastic effort, and we're
back in our home conditions now. The challenges we faced in the winter are less likely here,” said the right-handed batter who scored a hundred at Lord’s in his debut match.
It is a complete mismatch, when we compare the positions of the two sides in International Cricket Council's (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) Test rankings. England are sitting at the summit of the standings, while the West Indies are down at seventh.
However, the Caribbean side has shown signs of improvement in their recently concluded Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and will come out firing from all corners against the Poms in a bid to win their first Test match against England
since the game at Jamaica in 2009.
