West Indies wobbles as Sri Lanka made late strikes in Colombo Test
West Indies stuttered in the 2nd session of the final day as they lost five wickets, adding 78 runs to their final total. In the process, the visitors attained a modest total of 243 runs in their first innings at R Premadasa Stadium, in Colombo.
In a rain hit Test match, the second session of the fifth day was profitable for Sri Lanka as they scalped five West Indian wickets. In doing so, the home team pushed their quest to win the 2nd Test match, but all in vain as only a session’s play
is left.

and went passed the defences of Baugh to rattle his stumps.
Suranga Lakmal, the debutant scalped his 2nd wicket by dismissing Darren Sammy. It was a short delivery that enticed Sammy into a pull shot, but the West Indian captain was in no position to play the pull as he scooped it towards deep square-leg,
where Mathews completed a simple catch.

Previously, the 2nd Test match lost a day’s play, due to rain interruption. The penultimate day’s play was called off due to damp outfield and bad weather.
The 2nd Test is heading towards a likely draw as only a session’s play is left in the Test match.
