West Kirby Youth and Bluefin retain respective titles at RYA Eric Twiname Team Racing Championships
Youth and Junior divisions of Eric Twiname Team Racing Championships had some excellent moments of sailing at the Oxford Sailing Club, Farmoor Reservoir. Both Youth and Junior fleets completed their races, 75 and 65 respectively, to point out the winners on both sides.
West Kirby Sailing Club’s U-19 team of West Kirby Youth retained their title for the fourth time in a row while in the Junior division, Bluefin representing Cardiff Bay Yacht Club, Penarth Yacht Club and Burghfield Sailing Club took the crown for the second consecutive year.
The overall result at the end of the event:

2nd – Spinnaker Pirates (Spinnaker SC, Emsworth SC, Royal Southern YC) – Harry Derbyshire, Craig Dibb, Tarra Gill-Taylor, Matt Wallis, Annabel Vose, Toby Morsley.
3rd – Magdalen College School (Magdalen College School, Oxford) – Josh Adams, Guy Dickson, Sam Jenkins, Tom Maxwell, Nick Upton, Jo Gough.

Weather conditions on the final day remained ideal for a superb sail at the Oxford Sailing Club, as the winds blew from force 2 to 3 knots, allowing 100 races to be completed in both divisions.
The Youth fleet divided into gold and silver on the final day to complete 60 races. The West Kirby Youth team, comprising of Ben Robinson, Cameron Douglas, Sophie Shepard, Charlie Fitzgerald, Sarah Lombard and Alex Jardine, put up an impressive performance and hit top spot. The 2011 ISAF Team Racing World Championship winners grabbed the Youth title for the fourth consecutive year.
On the other hand, the Bluefin team, consisting of Fraser Woodley, Scott Wallis, Matt Whitfield, Alex Cole, James Taylor and Gareth Viney, were unstoppable in the Junior fleet, as the defending champions took on Spinnaker Flying Shrimps of Spinnaker Sailing Club in the final and lifted the title again.
