West Point Military Academy?

Question

I'm an enlisted solider. I want to know how do I go about going to West Point Military Academy. Is it as simple as applying and if I do get in can I just up and leave my current post to go there or do I need written consent from my company commander or higher? Any help would be much appreciated.

Your best chance is to complete your enlistment and when you are down to about a year, go to a career services office on post and ask for assistance in applying to West Point.

You have set yourself a difficult goal. To attend the United States Military Academy at West Point.....you must make application through your company commander..... If he does not endorse it your chances of attending are "none and none"......

After going through the chain of command.....talk to the First Sergeant....He can get you the regulation and application form.
