  1. ok people leave eagles alone!!!.have u seen the new talent we have? the kids right now being blooded into AFL ? AFL is about confidence and ur only playing great footy when u believe . look at geelong they playing awesome cos they believe not cos they r great . every 22 players have to work together. at eagles most of our players are in first season "fighting" to get to play everyweek. they don't have team culture yet...so our more expierenced players r trying to adapt to the younger ones..but its time we lift , we all work together and when this happens..WEST COAST  WILL BE FORCE...that no one can stop (but this is when it happens - these thinks don't work ova night)..GOOOO EAGLES...dip deep work hard....shoot for the moon cos even if u miss ull be in the stars.

greatness - some are born great, others  achieve greatness and others have greatness thrust apon them =)

  2. So 13 positions would be the biggest slide on record, from 3 to last?

  3. Eagles have really lost me, atleast Melbourne are playing their youngsters who I might add are looking great. They look like they just have no ticker or heart atm.

Finishing Bottom - Bottom 3 this year will pay off in the long run, Daniel Rich, Nicknat, Jack Watts all superstars in the making. This is a very good draft with depth so it's all not gloom and doom .

  4. Yes, the Eagles are going really bad - not firing a shot.

John Worsfoldf's reputation is also suffering but the coach I think has performed the worst is Mark Harvey.

Fremantle are only one place above the Eagles & pre-season Freo were 2nd favourite, behind Geelong, for the flag. WCE have lost a number of very good players & can claim some sort of excuse - whereas Freo had packed their squad with ready-made players in order to 'buy' a flag.

Freo & Harvey are the worst performers of 2008, regardless of how many positions the eagles drop.

  5. The only team that I know of that went from 4th to last was Geelong (in 1956 and 1957). I don't know of one that has gone from 3rd to last.

  6. Collingwood also beat WCE last year in the prelim finals...

  7. I reckon Melbourne will win The Spoon.

A nice 150th Birthday present for them...repayment for sacking Norm Smith back in the 1960's!!!

  8. I think the Demons will be wooden spooners, they wont win another match but i think west-coast will win 1 more home game before the end of the season. But still, not a good stat to have 3rd to 15th or 16th.

  9. Well the roos went from fourth to like 14th in one season.

  10. Giant fall from grace hey.

If they get the wooden spoon, they will create history becoming the only side to hit rock bottom who won a flag two years before hand.

They have had a horror run with injuries, especially early in the year.  to lose by so much to my side who are at best a good side, but out of the 8 was a pretty bad result for the eagles.

  11. eagles dont want to win

theres nothing in it for them

theyre going for draft picks now

    they want naitanui

  12. If they do achieve this feat of finishing last it will make the AFL happy.

They have stuck the boots into the Eagles noticably & gone overboard in ignoring transgressions by other clubs.

They will surely be revelling in the Eagles woes.

  13. "Last year they only lost to...."  if you look at your list, its nearly half the bloody competition you daft wazzock!

Unfortunately (well for us WCE supporters though not for anyone else), they probably will pick up the spoon this year, and the way they are playing they fully deserve to.  I wish they were tanking to get the draft pick, but I honestly don't think they are (and honestly think that only a very, very, very stupid club would do so - outside the NAB cup that is, where it's clear that most clubs tank, but only to keep their best players fresh).

I suspect that the question is another jovial poke at the Eagles misfortune.  So let me ask another one to help even it up.  When was the last time that a team lost its current captain and its previous captain in one season?  Hmmm, maybe that might have something to do with it, dya think??

  14. Collingwood went from runners up in 2003 to 13th position in 2004... In 2005 they were 15th.

  15. The biggest slide down the ladder from on year to another is 12 posistions, it was Adelaide who went from 1st in 1998 to 13th in 1999.

The highest spot one year, to last the next is 6th. Carlton went from 6th in 2001 to 16th in 2002.

EDIT: They guy above me is right as well. Geelong went from 4th in 1956 to 14th (which was last back then) in 1957. I was only looking at recent times.
