Was I right about West Coast, or what?

Do you think they tanked?

Or are they really that pathetic?

I think the game this week answered a lot of questions about them.

Sorry Charliee.....

  1. uummm they are really that PATHETIC

  2. I agree they tanked . They have Hawthorn and Geelong in the last 2 rounds so why would they want to beat Melbourne and lose a priority pick. I think tanking includes sending players off for surgery that could easily wait for a few more weeks. Fair enough that bottom gets No.1 ,etc, etc but I think priority picks should be scrapped.

  3. If the team tanked, then John Worsfold deserves an Oscar for his post-match interview. JW was on safe ground with his comments on Stan Alves and Grant Thomas: one molly-coddler and 1 conceited dunce who obviously didn't notice Clark Keating's contribution to 3 Brisbane flags. Both missed the opportunity to break the drought for St Kilda, whereas JW's coaching bore fruit, and gave us the 2 best GF's in recent years.

  4. They were very ordinary...but do those who claim all this tanking **** is going on realise just how plain bad judgement it would be to be for clubs to be deliberately dropping games and basing their future success on ONE player, the best youngster in the land..at that point in time, dont forget that...who could end up a great player or end up as an overrated player?

  5. There were about 6 premiership players in the side....and about 15 new comers in the side....no body understands how many injuries have hit the eagles this season because on the field it has really hurt them

  6. Yes they tanked. 5 goals15? Give me a break.

    Here's a thought.

Imagine if Geelong threw the last game against the Eagles! It wouldn't affect them. It's not like they're going to lose 1st spot or anything. But that would give the Eagles 5 wins for the season and the loss of a priority pick!

    Wouldn't that be funny?

  7. West Coast Wankers, er sorry, TANKERS!!

  8. I don't think they tanked, I think they are just plain bad!

  9. second bottom playing bottom .. and one of them had to win( with the exception of a draw)......

I'm a dees supporter... and while NOT intentionally knocking my team .. we did only beat the team above us....

AND they inturn were beaten by the team below them....

    no surprize who ever won

  10. Steve . . . . quit the bagging the eagles questions . . . please!

    NO, they did NOT "Tank!"

I was quite confident of a win for a while there, watching the game, lol.

Yes it was a fairly ordinary game, but that was on both teams parts. But what can one expect from the 2 bottom teams.

It certainly was not a deliberate loss, the Eagles have more pride than to do that!

I still love them! I got on the eagles website last week and bought my 4 year old a brand new eagles guernsey for his birthday in a week. He wears his old one EVERYWHERE, and it shows. He loves his eagles too, and he will be WRAPPED!!

    There is always next year . . . . . .

  11. As a Carlton supporter I hate the word tanking, its smart list management to try some of the kids out if you can,t make the finals.

  12. I liked Wooshas comments on the news tonight the only coaches and people that talk about tanking all the time are the ones that have considered doing it themselves.

The coach and the Eagles have way to much pride in their club to even contemplate tanking can you say the same about your team when it languished at the bottom of the ladder.

  13. A but maybe, but i think it was mainly because Melbourne had more to play for!! if you know what i mean.

  14. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... This is a recorded message: Oh I just can't be bothered going over it yet again.

I am ever so slowly going around the twist with these tanking questions. Don't we have to finish with four wins or less in two consecutive seasons to qualify for a priority draft pick?

  15. No way.  I can't believe a club with that much pride would deliberately lose games.  Their list is fine.  It's not like there's a shortage of young talent.

It's the attitude that sucks but not to the extent that they'd deliberately lose.  They remind me of the Canberra Raiders in the League.  A couple of real dix in there.  They've cut them loose and suddenly winning by 60 points one week and 30 the next.  Or the Cats pre-round 5 2007 for that matter!!

  16. No we didn't tank! We are just legitimately sh*t this year - with 14 players out for the season, who most happen to be premiership players, it is bound to happen!

  17. pathetic
