Western Australia 324 all-out against South Australia, match evenly poised

WA won the toss and elected to bat first at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 Cricket Ground (WACA). The team would have expected to pile a big first innings total, but they were all out after scoring 324.
In reply, SA had to bat out 11 overs in the day and the lost one of their openers for just 15 runs until close of play.
The home team started their innings after tea from 225 for the loss of six wickets. The unbeaten batsmen until tea were the wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi on 33 and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Coulter-Nile-c2070 on two.
WA would have expected Ronchi to carry onto his start and play a big innings for his team. However, the team was disappointed to see yet another batsman throwing his wicket away after getting a start, as Ronchi got out after adding just four runs to his
total.
After Ronchi got out making 37 runs, it seemed as the team may be out within 250. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Beer-c1949 also got out early after just scoring two runs and the team was struggling at 241 for eight.
Tall fast bowler Nathan was joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ryan-Duffield-c2387 at the crease and the pair constructed a 60-run partnership for the hosts. This helped the team to take their total over 300.
Duffield lost his wicket after scoring a good knock of 21 runs and Michael Hogan joined Nathan at the crease.
Hogan caressed the ball to all parts of the park and reached 21 runs in a very short time, facing just 12 balls. However, he was out of partners as Nathan was dismissed after a brilliant 46 run innings.
Although Nathan’s innings was very important for his team, the youngster would have liked to score his maiden first-class half-century.
It was a good day for another Nathan as the debutant for SA, Nathan Lyon took four wickets for his team. He got good support from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jake-Haberfield-c1629, who took three wickets.
The hosts got one wicket of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Smith-c1654 were unbeaten on four and 10 respectively. The lone wicket to fall was taken by Duffield.
