Queensland were in trouble in a Sheffield Shield match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 (WA) being played at the WACA, Perth. The visitors required 89 runs to save an innings defeat and had seven wickets left.
The home team started the Day 3 of the match with 241 runs on the board and three wickets down. Opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Voges-c925 was not-out on 38. The Perth wicket was good for batting, but there was some pace and bounce
in it too.
Harris batted well yesterday and deserved a 150, which he achieved today. It was a patient innings from the opening batsman, as it took 411 balls for him to reach 157 runs. He struck 20 fours in his innings and was eventually dismissed after a 120-run stand
with Voges.
The fall of Harris’ wicket brought http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Johnson-c76069 in the middle and he offered solid support to Voges.
The pair constructed a brilliant century stand for the sixth wicket and took their team’s total to 381. However, Johnson wasn’t able to score a half-century and was dismissed after scoring 46 runs. His wicket saw a collapse for the home team and the last
five wickets fell for just 16 runs.
Voges was exceptional as he amassed a magnificent 108 runs from 243 balls. He struck 13 fours in his innings. WA were all-out for 397 runs, taking a 147-run first innings lead over the visitors.
James Hopes was the pick of the bowlers, as he took four wickets for his team. He got good support from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alister-McDermott-c1001, who grabbed two wickets each in the innings.
The start to the second innings was dismal for Queensland, as they lost their opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ryan-Broad-c2384 got a good start to his innings, but failed to capitalise on it. He was dismissed
after scoring 32 runs off 66 balls.
Andrew Robinson and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Lynn-c1246 tried to bat out the remaining session, but Lynn was cleaned up in the last over of the day. The umpires called the day off with the fall of his wicket. However, Robinson was unbeaten on 17 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Beer-c1949 took a wicket each for their team and will be looking forward to bowl out the entire Queensland team tomorrow.
