William Sheridan’s five-wicket haul lead his team to a comprehensive victory over the host in the 27th First-Class match of the Sheffield Shield Cup, played at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 Cricket Association Ground, Perth, March 5, 2012.
Western Australia were on top initially after they took a slender first innings lead, but fell flat against the bowling of Sheridan in their second outing of the match – succumbing on 154 to lose the game by a whopping 212-run margin.
Victoria resumed Day 4 on 361 for 6 and added 29 runs to their total before declaring on 390 for 8. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaron-Finch-c881 also added 66 and 39 runs respectively - helping
their team to set their opponents a healthy target of 367.

The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Travis-Birt-c2707 only managed 6 – with the left-armer completing a sizzling five-for to leave the host stunned
at 81 for 5.
The remaining five batters, apart from top scorer Nathan Coulter- Nile( 44), also failed to make a mark as the team crumbled on 154.
The Victoria bowlers were superlative in keeping their opponents at bay. Apart from the heroics from Sheridan, fellow pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jayde-Matthew-Herrick-c66694 also bowled immaculately to pick up three wickets.
With one round of the competition remaining, the mammoth victory has placed Victoria at the 4th position in the points table.
