What type of plate boundary exists in western california. What are some features or geologic events that are related to the plate boundary in california. Describe the plate tectonic activity that is going on there?

Western California straddles two plates, North American and Pacific.  This is a transform plate boundary.  The Pacific Plate is moving to the north-northwest past the North American plate.  Associated with this boundary is an extensive network of faults.  One notable one is the San Andreas Fault.  The main geological events are earthquakes.
