Western Digital My Book 500GB Essential Edition...

Hi,
Please Help!! I got one for Christmas, plugged it in, it put info on Computer, but no software or instrutions on what/how to back up my Photos,Etc.
Can anyone help with EASY info on what to do...I do not know much about Computers...Just want to be able to save Grandkids and family Photos...
