Western High likely to win Maiden Hurdle – Huntingdon Preview
Western High is supposed to show a high-class performance at Huntingdon racecourse where he is going to run in the
£32 Free At 32red.Com Maiden Hurdle on Wednesday, March 14.
The Jim Best-trained bay gelding seems to be in the most favourable position to finish first in the Class 4 contest of 2m110y distance.
For the prize money of £2,534, Western High will compete against 15 rivals including Arctic Gunner, Featherintheattic, Generous Kenny, Hakuna Matata, Hurricane Hymnbook, Kings Bayonet, Kruzhlinin, Magicalmysterytour,
Midnight Choice, Willard, Bollin Judith, Lady Deddington, Small And Mighty, Total Obsession and Takhreej.
Since making his debut in March 2011, Western High has run for five times to date. In the third outing of his career on December 26, the seven-year-old horse marvellously notched up top spot.
After finishing fifth in a race on February 25, 2012, the talented gelding went on to get fourth position in his last start on March 7.
These outstanding performances by the novice runner have made him a valuable betting prospect. At the moment, he stands as the hot favourite horse for today’s mega marathon.
Though he is young and inexperienced in compare with his competitors but the class he has shown is matchless.
If Western High manages to capitalise on his capabilities properly, he will definitely be able to enjoy good time on track today. His chances to finish first in the event are as high as 85 percent.
Among the other runners, Lady Deddington and Featherintheattic are likely to perform confidently in the race.
Lady Deddington exposed her inherent skills well by finishing third in her first and last race on September 23, 2011. Since that time, Paul Webber’s young mare has been undergoing tough schooling. She is anticipated to show a decent run at Huntingdon.
On the other hand, Featherintheattic ran as 7-4 favourite in his maiden outing on April 10, 2011 and elegantly clinched first position. The champion trainer Nicky Henderson’s bay gelding finished 7th in his third and last start on December 19.
He is also carrying good form right now.
Despite being capable enough, none of these two runners will be able to challenge Western High’s favourite position. Thus, Best’s gelding will run to his best to cross the boundary strap ahead of all. Good luck to him.
