Western High set to finish first at Chepstow – Maiden Hurdle Preview
Chepstow horseracing track will host ‘Hire One Maiden Hurdle’ Division 1 race of 2m4f distance at 1:30 (GMT) on Saturday, February 25. The £2,274 contest contains a dozen of entries.
The runners include Admiral Blake, Ardkilly Gunner, Generous Kenny, Henry The First, Laflammedeglorie, Massapoag, Master Neo, Power Man, Prankster, Truckers Benefit, Western High and Sunshine Buddy.
Here we point out three aces who are expected to win top three positions in the race.
Western High
Jim Best’s black gelding started his career on March 2, 2011 at Bangor-on-dee track and finished 3rd in his maiden race. He went on to get 13th position in his next outing on April 19. The novice runner’s first and last victory came
in his last start at Towcester on December 26.
Running against 7 competitors, the talented gelding marvellously notched up top position, heightening his morale. Now, he seems to be in good form which is a prelude of his promising future. He is expected to finish 1st in today’s marathon.
Ardkilly Gunner
In his very first outing on December 30, 2010, the Ian Williams-trained black gelding grabbed the first position. He went on to finish 6th at Chepstow in March 2011.
In his last two outings during November 2011, the gelding showed enough fighting spirit and finished 2nd each. These performances reveal that the young runner possesses plenty of talent. He is likely to do well again today and gain 2nd
spot.
Laflammedeglorie
Since his debut on November 21, 2011, David Pipe’s gelding has run for two times so far, finishing 2nd in the maiden and getting 7th position in his second race.
These two outings have exposed the gelding’s inherent abilities well. He is supposed to show some decent runs in the future as well. In today’s contest, he is much likely to achieve the third top spot.
Conclusion
Except this trio, some of the other runners are also carrying good forms. Thus, Maiden Hurdle is going to be a close competition. Western High will have to fight hard to keep his head high. Good luck to all the runners.
