Western Kate tipped to win the Thermolast Roofing Ltd. Novices´ Handicap Hurdle
Western Kate is likely to prevail in the Thermolast Roofing Ltd. Novices´ Handicap Hurdle at Hereford in England on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will walk away with a cash prize of £1,779.
The stamina of the runners will be tested in the race, as the overall distance to cover is 2 mile, 6 furlong and 110 yards. A total of 11 entries have been confirmed and their names are as follows: Western Kate, Cherry Vine, Mrs Peacock, Jam Tomorrow, Roybuoy,
New Destination, Trade On, Storming Redd, Drummers Drumming, Dapple Prince and Quayside Court.
Although Western Kate does not have a very good strike rate over hurdles, she has shown some good form recently, which is why the bookies have awarded her with the best odds for today’s race.
The five-year-old mare has participated in six hurdles until now, winning just one of them. Other than that, she has not managed to even finish in the top three even once. Considering this, the punters will be discouraged to place much bets in her favour.
John Flint’s trainee does have a very good momentum though, as she finished on top in her most recent race. She was not the favourite to win in that event, but performed exceptionally well in the end, outclassing the rest of the pack.
Western Kate will be partnered by Thomas Flint, who is relatively new to the sport, but has a decent record overall. He has won seven hurdles in his career until now and has an impressive strike rate, which is quite a positive thing.
On the other hand, Mrs Peacock will also be expected to deliver a strong result today, despite that fact that she has never won any race over hurdles. She has taken part in eight of such events and the best she could manage was a third place finish once.
Tim Vaughan’s trainee has not been in good form recently, thus the bettors will not be risking much money on her. She will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Aidan Coleman, who will be looking for some luck to fight for victory today.
The rest of the participants do not seem to be in a good position to win at Hereford today, thus Western Kate will have extremely good chances of shining.
