  1. The WM was on the west side of the river, and a prominent feature, the platforms were elevated above street level and several years ago the platfoms had not been torn down, as I recall the station is street level, and overshadowed by the platfom structure.

  2. The Amtrak Station in Cumberland is nothing at all to scream about.  There is a station where the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad runs.  There address is 13 Canal Street in Cumberland.  The following website will give you directions on how to get to the station.

As far as Connellsville goes . . . the Amtrak station there is again, nothing at all.  The original staiton was torn down a few years ago.  In it's place is just a square box with windows.  Not sure of a "good" station on those lines.  You best bet might be the Amtrak station in Pittsburgh.  To my knowledge most of the other ones have been torn down.

  3. The WM station now is the home of Yough Glass, 900 Crawford Ave. in C'ville. Here is a link with photos and history:

There is an Amtrak station in Greensburg, drive up 119 from C'ville. Closer than Pgh, though I'm not sure of the address.

Also check this book out for some history of the WM along the Yough:

  4. hi  Some years ago i was in new oxford pa going south through town and while crossing the tracks saw an old PRR bobber caboose on the right next to the WM station which was a museum which was filled with fantastic RR stuff and it also had an old baggage car with a model RR next to it  if it is still their it is well worth seeing
