Question:

Westinghouse HDMI port failure.?

I have a 47" LCD 1080P and I bought it in October of last year. A few days ago, when I booted up my PS3 I had a black screen. At first, I assumed that it was the PS3's HDMI port, because my audio was running through A/V into a receiver, but then I turned on my DirecTV HD receiver, and there is a black screen showing up as well. I had a few other HDMI cables to test this out with, and I came to the conclusion that all four of my Westinghouse's HDMI ports are shot. The answer to why is because they are really wired up as one Input, although it's made as four, so it works like a Hub. The model has been discontinued I think, so if I call Westinghouse (which they have a one year limited warranty) will they fix/replace my TV free of charge, or is it something that would be classified as physical damage and tell me to ask a repair man? Also, is there a way to temporarily fix this?

  1. I cannot htink of a temporary fix, other than not using the HDMI.

Westinghouse is a low end manufacturer, (the displays are good, but the rest is questionable).

As for the warrenty, good luck.
