Westmead Maldini to take down Airlie Impact and Loughteen Blanco for winning the Coral Sussex Cup - Final
Droopys Maldini’s four-year-old son made the decisive impact in the first semi-final of the Coral Sussex Cup on 26th July, 2012 at Hove over 515 metres. He remained the centre of attention as he ticked the clock the quickest and the audience awaited the striking of a lower time through the second and third semi-final of the race. Westmead Maldini remained the sharpest when racing through the track distance in 29.91 seconds and winning by the margin of ¾ of a length.

The obstacles for winning the final of the Coral Sussex Cup do not end with Loughteen Blanco as the evening’s favourite, Airlie Impact, also needs to be tackled. The four-year-old will need to keep a check on the speed, competition and most importantly breaking strongly from the gate. The sluggish break in the semi-final did not hamper the victory but Westmead Maldini might not be that lucky this time.
