Westmead Shaw set to stand first in Mall Stakes Third Semi Final
Westmead Shaw is all set to seal first position in the Ladbrokes Pall Mall Stakes Third Semi Final that will take place at Oxford racecourse on Thursday night, June 14. The high-stakes Open Race will commence at 21:45 (GMT).
On the flat course of 450 metres, the N. Savva-trained black dog will run against Smart Bid, Millwards Blag, Packin Heat, Droopys Betson and Aherlow Shaw.
Westmead Shaw has accomplished a number of iconic marks since the dawn of the calendar year. After winning a big race in January, the three-year-old veteran hound marvellously bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs in April.
The dashing dog elegantly gained two runner-up ranks along with two classic triumphs in the month of May. He moved on to finish 3rd in his last outing on June 7.
Thus, the brilliant son of Ballymac Maeve out of Westmead Swift is awash with winning momentum that will lead him well on his way towards the finish line in tonight’s Semi Final.
Westmead Shaw’s chances to thrive are as high as 90 percent provided he manages to produce an electric pace and keep his stamina intact.
However, each one of Smart Bid and Millwards Blag can impede Westmead Shaw in the race.
Smart Bid excellently won a race by the big margin of 3 lengths on February 18. The C. Allsopp-trained black dog achieved two marvellous triumphs each in March and April.
The son of Ninja Jamie out of Expert Flash went on to claim a victory along with a runner-up position in May. He finally finished first by the margin of 7 ¼ lengths in his last start on June 7.
On the other hand, Millwards Blag bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs in the first decade of April 2012. The P. Young-trained legendary dog proceeded to win another race on April 28.
After getting a grand victory in May, the experienced runner also finished first in his last outing on June 7.
In this situation, there is expected to be a fierce battle among Westmead Shaw, Millwards Blag and Smart Bid. Let us see who carries the day. Good luck to the trio.
