Weston-s-Mare pier fire great loss, what ever happened to the other pier?

WSM pier fire, sad news a great loss. Lets hope it can be rebuilt a.s.a.p. The top part as been distroyed lets hope the foundation legs are still sound, structual experts will check this out.

Question:

WSM as two piers whats happening about the other pier been closed for years will it ever reopen.

It is so sad about the pier.  It has been the brunt of many jokes today, but to North Somerset it is a sad loss.

The older pier is now the proud new site of flats!  They have been under construction for the past two years and it is now complete.  Have to say they look pretty good though!  Pop to WSM and see us sometime!

I live just outside of Weston.  The old pier, not the marina (although that is flats also) has been turned into flats.  Honestly it really IS now flats.  Built out on the old pier towards the Calthorpe Hotel.

Do you mean Burnbeck Pier..not to be confused with the flats newly built on Burnbeck Island?

If so, I have actually seen some work going on there.

As far as I know, they are working to restore it to its original state..

As for The Grand Pier, it is truely heartbreaking to see ....the seafront looks lost without it.

I think WSM has another 2 piers. But they don't contain attractions like the Grand Pier did, so they're pretty unknown.

I love Weston, been there alot recently, enjoyed T4 On The Beach there too. I was going to go there today also.

It's really sad that this happened, now Weston has nothing really but the owners have said that they aim to re build the Grand Pier, yet again. So that will be good.

I think now that the amusements have gone at the main pier, it will be a big blow for Weston and their tourist industry, so I think they will re open places that they have closed.

Sad news, the other pier is still standing and has been bought by an entrepreneur but every time plans go in the council vetoe them The last plan was a casino but that was thrown out.

I LOVED WSM. i used to go there when i was young. tears came down my eyes when i heard the sad news.
