Westwood trying to win the Nedbank Challenge
The current world number one English golfing ace Lee Westwood will try his luck in the upcoming Nedbank Challenge to clinch the first title for him in the year 2010 as the Briton has still not been able to win a title so far this year.
The thirty-seven year old champ golfer is performing pretty well these days but the he has not been able to finish a golfing event on the top spot this year. It is to be noted that Lee Westwood has played a brilliant game in the recent golf event in Dubai
in which he finished in the top three.
Despite of finishing in the top three, Lee Westwood is still not very happy with his performance as he got failed to defend the title as he won the Dubai golf event last year. It is also to be noted that the last year’s Dubai golf event’s title was his last
victory and after that the Englishman has not been able to win any of the golfing events this year.
In a very recent interview the British ace told the media about his feelings regarding the matter. Lee Westwood told that he should have won the Dubai World Championships golf event this year but he thinks the year is not so lucky for him. Lee added that
despite of not winning the event he is happy because he has performed up to the par throughout the year.
He continued and told the media about his performance in the recent Dubai World Championship at the Earth golf course that he was not feeling very comfortable to play in Dubai this year. He added that he was feeling a bit rusty during the event and he is
not very satisfied with the way he has performed in Dubai this year.
Westwood also told about his bleak performance in the season’s final golf event and said that he made very ordinary mistakes in the event. He continued that he missed some good chances of carding the putts at the very crucial stages of the event and that
is probably the main reason that made him to finish behind the point’s leader of the event.
But according to some sports critics the performance of Lee Westwood at the Earth course was not at all ordinary. According to them, the world champ golfer got very close to defend his title and which is a very solid proof of his remarkable performance in
Dubai.
While talking about the matter Westwood said that the tournament was quite unfortunate for him as he gave his best but all of his efforts were going in vain. Westwood told that he is now looking forward to play better in the upcoming Nedbank Championship
of golf and he is very hopeful to continue his good playing form in the upcoming golf season as well.
The British veteran Lee Westwood has also been fighting against his calf injury. It is to be noticed that the injury has affected his performance throughout the year. According to Westwood his major focus is to recover from the injury as soon as possible
because it is giving him a lot of mental stress.
Westwood told that he is very confident to gain full fitness very soon. He continued that his leg has created a lot of problem for him and he has not been able to play fully because of the injury. The world champ seemed pretty concerned with his injury and
said that these days his major focus is to recover from the injury and he is very hopeful that he will continue his impressive game next year as well.
Now the fans of this British top golfer are aiming to see him playing tremendously well in the upcoming NedBank golf event.
