  1. Yellow Columbines, fern and lillies come to mind.

  2. Try an Astilbe, they come in White and Purple, I have 3 in my garden where the soil is wet and shady.

  3. camellias love shade and dont mind water logging however the roots may still rot

  4. Try this web page, lots of ideas and pictures

    Good luck

  5. any bog loving plants, have a look at a garden nursery and they will have loads of choice

  6. The list is endless and you have a great opportunity to create a really lush area growing plants with big jungly leaves which love those conditions. Try Arum lilies, Gunnera (very large), Rheums, Sauromatum, Arisaema, or try this for the more ordinary choice. http://www.plantsforshade.co.uk/

  7. I have a gunerra growing in just the conditions you describe. In it`s 4th year now ,leaves 4-5ft across and about 7ft high.I love it!Looks unsightly when it dies back at end of year, but come spring you could sit and watch it grow,it`s that fast.A real feature and talking point but a bit like Marmite, you either love it or hate it,but well worth considering.good luck.

  8. Turn it into a bog garden - lots of choice then.  Plant Gunnera for their enormous leaves; red willow for the red stems in winter (when the gunnera dies back); different coloured irises for height; salvia 'queen victoria' -  tall red flowers, purple foliage; salvia 'russian princess' - tall pink flowers; astilbes in red, pink and white with feathery foliage; various couloured arums; different forms of ferns;  then underplant with yellow mimulus for ground cover or use gravel to top-dress.
