So, a got my phone wet and let it dry for a couple of days and it said "service required", I was told at my local telus branch that it is broken and switched my plan to an old phone i had lying around, i recently turned on the "broken" phone to get some numbers out of my contacts, and the "service required" message has changed to "searching for service", does this mean the phone is fixed? Should i change the plan back to this phone?

  1. I dropped mine in water as well, i took a blow drier to it for a couple minutes, took the battery out and laid the phone on a paper towel for a couple of days.  When i turned it on it worked fine.  The fact that you keep turning it on is probably going to damage it more because it's still wet.  Take it apart and let it dry for another couple of days and then try turning it on again.  It could work, and hopefully it will but if i wouldnt switch it back until you know for sure if it is going to work or not.

    Good Luck =)

  2. Dry your phone for a few days with the battery out of the phone and after a few days it should be fine again. My phone got wet in my pocket at knee-high water level and I tried to turn it on but it couldn't. The phone eventually got spoiled as I didn't remove the battery immediately after it got wet. I'm currently using a spare phone until I can get a new replacement.

  3. open it up, let it dry, it might come back, it might not.id say wait about 12 hours b4 you power it on again. the features and programs may not all work at once but this happened to me and everything eventually came back
