Question:

Wetsuit quetion?

Hey, I have a 3/2 medium sized oneil epic wetsuit (full) that I just bought (to replace an old quicksilver one). I took it out today and it kept me nice and warm most of the time.

One of the problems that I am having is when bodysurfing, a rush of cold water goes through the suit making it cold (aparently coming from the neck nt being tight enough). Is this normal?

Secondly, after the cold rush of water comes in, it seems to go and settle by my calves and upper legs. Especialy when I get out of the water, it all settles in my calf area and, well, wiggles around there untill you empty it out. Is this normal?

So, any advice on how to fix this is great.

  1. yes. I get the  water stuck in the calf parts of my wetsuit.  You can empty it out simply once you get out of the water.

  2. IS there a velcro strap on the neck? If so, tighten it more so you can keep water out. It may feel akward at first, but it will keep you warm.

If not, get a wetsuit that's tighter fitting. Also, wearing a rashguard (preferably with a longer collar) helps by plugging the gap in the neck area with fabric.

  3. Yes u will get wet any way

  4. It sounds like you wetsuit is too big. A good wetsuit should fit like a second skin. Unfortunately, wetsuits, like bathing suits are no return items. If you are young, you might get lucky & grow into it.
