  1. I like to pack things that I can mix and match. I always pack at least 1 pair of jeans, one comfortable pair of walking shoes, one pair of dress shoes, several different t-shirts, tops, and bottoms, and at least 1 dressy outfit. Don't forget to pack sunblock and a hat, if you'll be walking around outside. You may want to bring one sweater or zip-up hoodie in case it gets cold at night. Flip flops for the beach.

Make sure to wear the heaviest shoes that you're bringing, and wear something comfortable on the plane. I also like to bring my iPod and some magazines for the airplane.

no but really I think maybe some sunscreen?

  3. Congrats on going to New Orleans! I'm going there soon too!I think you have everything! You have to make sure that you save room in your suitcase for shopping! : ) I see that you didn't mention any other bathroom supplies, like shampoo, conditioner, face wash, hairspray, mousse, and things like that. Also body wash, body spray, and deodorant. Just don't forget those things! Also if you wear contacts or glasses, make sure you have the right type of cases and/or solutions. Have a fun time!

  4. Bring an iPod, or anything with music to listen for the road

  5. look on onebag.com they have a really good packing list

  6. New Orleans and Washington are both hot & humid during summer, so pack everyday clothes that are light-colored, lightweight, loose-fitting, and 100% cotton.  Not sure about DC, but dress in NOLA is quite casual during summer. (except for dinner at an upscale restaurant).

It doesn't get cold at night, but everywhere indoors is air-conditioned - often VERY air-conditioned.  You shold pack a wrap or light jacket for going out to dinner.

I don't see sunglasses or a folding unbrella on your list, and they would be good items for both cities.

    Cellphone & charger?  Laptop?

Hope you have a great trip!
