Abbreviations are shortened versions of words for ease of use, for example etcetera is abbreviated to etc.

Oh and maybe you should spell it correctly too!

assuming you mean abbreviations they are just how we shorten words to things that aren't really words.  your use of plez instead of please is a perfect example.  a more acceptable form would be using ac for air conditioning.  a 2 bd apt w w/d ac hdwd flrs is abbreviated shorthand for a 2 bedroom apartment with washer dryer, air conditioning and hardwood floors.

Whenever I don't know the meaning of a word, I look it up in a dictionary. If you don't have one, use http://dictionary.reference.com/ or you can go to google.com and type in "define: abbreviation"

abbreviations are when you shorten a word so that they are easier or quicker. like the abbreviation for Pennsylvania is PA or the abbreviation for Missus is Mrs. and Mister Mr. and Doctor Dr. and so on Dr. is also the abbreviation for drive like a street name and street is st. and st. is also saint and stuff like that. hope that helped
