What, exactly, is a "Riggin"?

I'm wondering what, precisely, a Riggin is. I know it's a piece of Rodeo Equipment, and I believe it is part of the saddle; is it the entire saddle, or a strap, or what?

It's a leather apparatus type handle to hold on to, used for lifting or hauling. Usually used while ridding bareback.   Sometimes you'll find used ones on eBay.
