  1. AN APPLE OR AN ORANGE

  2. You can't go wrong with the tried and true red apple.  However, I would suggest it in terms of the symbolism and not an actual apple.  You might want to see if you can find a paperweight that looks like a red apple or some other practical gift the teacher can use that looks like an apple.  Of course, if time is of the essence - go to the grocery store and find the shiniest red apple they have to be presented with a biggest smile ever.

  3. Don't go with the old school apple, how about flowers?

  4. A homemade gift would be very sweet. A card of appreciation for example.

  5. What does he like to do?  Does he like to draw, write, build?

If he likes to draw, have him draw a picture of what he thinks K will be like - hearing stories, playing games, making fun projects, learning letters and  numbers, etc.

If he likes to write, have him make a card - I've always loved handmade cards from my kids.

If he likes to build, maybe he could make her something out of legos or other blocks?  An apple would be adorable :)

  6. An apple accompanied with a hand written letter of how "he hopes he has fun and learns a lot". Those are always cute :D
