  1. Do you really want to have the government in the oil business?

Supply and demand is the way. Increase supply (drill more) and / or decrease demand (find an alternative). Both need to be addressed.

  2. The government should not do anything. The free market determines gas prices. The government tried in the 70's and that led to drastic shortages. The only way to drop prices is to reduce demand or increase supply. There is no other way. Period

  3. Confront the crooks frommaking too much money off you.

But those in the government are part of the crooks anyway.

George Bush Family is in gas/oil business. Meaning BUSH and his family will ever be getting more and more wealthy while you vote for him and pay at the gas station.

If they have not waged that stupid Iraq war, i believe gas price would have been lower.

So,they know what they are doing.

  4. DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW, PAY LESS!!! If we drill in the US domestically and offshore that will lower gas prices and lead us towards energy independence.

to those above me that said they should do nothing well they already did something to stop drilling so once Congress lifts the ban on domestic and offshore drilling then they should stay out of it.

  5. Nationalize current domestic oil production leases.  Oversee distribution of refined product at a price point that does not encumber Mainstream America with more debt.

Seize financial resources of Oil interests and reimburse Mainstream America for economic abuse caused by manipulation of supply by oligopoly.

It is simple sell refined product at a discount percentage of market price equal to the burden currently being endured by consumers until there is substantial economic recovery.
