  1. Fuel prices affect everything - In a world that is dependent on the transportation of goods, a higher fuel surcharge equals higher prices on goods.  Transportation companies aren't going to take the full hit, so they pass it on to the shippers, who in turn pass it on the customer.  Now the customer is paying a higher price on everything, which means they spend less on things like entertainment and luxuries that they normally would have.  This in turn makes a declining market which results in a drop in work force due to the fact that the services needed 6 months ago have fallen off and aren't needed anymore.  Now unemployment goes up, which means people are desperat for any kind of work, so now employers are paying less money for workers, which equals lower household income and results in people not spending anything because they have to buy food and FUEL to get to work.  With rising Fuel costs, now it is hurting even more for people to even get to work in order to make less money!!

The Rich get Richer and the Poor get Poorer.  IT'S ALL DUE TO THE GREED OF MAN!!

  2. Everything. All the food is transported to the cities by trucks or w/e (runs on oil...), plastic is made of oil... imagine the world without plastic, just look around you. How many things can you see made of plastic?

  3. When gas prices go up...So do the prices of goods that are transported via the use of gas.  I have noticed that everything from food prices to shoe prices have gone up as a result.  This effects the families who could barely afford things such as gas and food.  People have to look for an additional job to help support their families.

  4. Gas is needed for so many things that we take it for granted. We need it for cars, the airline industry needs it and is currently facing higher costs. I think that gas is also needed to generate electricity.
