  1. If the question is what I think it is "what is a rainbow made of?" then the answer is light. Its the result when white light is split into its constituent colours (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) as it passes through rain drops in the atmosphere. Its the same effect as when light passes through a prism and is seen as seven separate colours on the other side. Each colour has a different wavelength and so it travels at a slightly different speed. This causes each colour of light to bend at a slightly different angle as it passes from the prism (or raindrop) back into the air and the colours become separated as a result. If the question was actually something else, then I apologise for answering the wrong question.

  2. Rainbows are made from refraction in the air. After it has rained, there are still water particles in the air, and when the sunlight hits them, the white light from the sun (which contains all the colors from the light spectrum) is refracted (or separated). This way you can see the whole spectrum separately: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.

    Hope this helps :)
