  1. There's no such things as "money making investments".  There are dividends and capital gains.  Having said that I suggest you AVERAGE your way into T Rowe Price's New Era Fund and watch commodity prices continue climbing with your shares.  Hedge those with about 1/3 of the $$$ over time in the Dividend Income Fund.  You've balance and despite being in the market you're heavily invested in the two best sectors...commoditieis New Era and Income Dividend Income.  DO NOT TAKE THE ENTIRE 30K and put it in at once...just use enough to start the MIPS (monthly investment plans)...keep the majority in liquid savings/cash...over time the average will be lower than the value of the shares you purchase and you can take gains according to needs.  FYI I am not specifically recommending either of the Price Funds...just using them as examples of possible investments...suggest you contact a quality planner CFP who's not affiliated with a Broker Dealer directly for advice.  PEACE!

  2. With $ 29,000. you could afford about 1425 shares of Harvest Energy Trust. ( HTE) a Canadian energy company...every month you would get a dividend of  30 cents for every share you own... ( or $ 427.50 )  in twelve months that would amount to $ 5130.  ( a " return" of  17.6% )

...of course every month you could re-invest your dividend and be making more monthly by the end of the year...

...then again, maybe people will stop using oil, natural gas and gasoline/diesel fuel...

I used $29,000. in case you wanted to buy some sandwiches or something before your first dividend came in....

...you could start with any amount, if you wanted to just " stick a toe in " for awhile.

  3. I'd open a Prosper account and lend it out to earn some interest.
