There's the rotary kick for treading water, and egg beater kick to jump high... What's the third one? (There is a third one. This was a question on a test)

Thank you all in advance.

  1. Hmm.  I've used more than three kicks playing water-polo.  Flutter kick goes along with your front crawl for sprints and moving up and down the pool.  But sometimes I've used breast-stroke kick when moving around more slowly.

When you say egg-beater and rotary kick, those are really the same kick.  A modified breast-stroke kick with one leg going at a time.

I've also used a breast-stroke or scissors-kick while playing in goal.  Those can both give you a sudden 'lift' to go after a high shot, more abrupt that the rotary kick, stronger too, but not sustainable.

So the kicks I have used are:  Flutter-kick, Rotary (egg-beater) kick, Breast-stroke (whip) kick, and Scissors-kick.

  2. I would say flutter kick.  its used when one is just swimming down the pool.
