  1. how about a sig sauer mosquito? it's roughly $250

  2. I love my Browning Buckmark that was under $300.00 new and works like a dream. It's pretty accurate, too.

  3. I Love my Walther p-22...don't remember what I paid but it wasn't much...I am a cheapskate

  4. One of the best all around 22 pistols is the Ruger single six.  It is a revolver.  You can also get the Ruger convertable, which is a 22LR with an extra cylinder in a 22 Mag.  Allows you to shoot 22LR and then switch cylinders and shoot the 22 Mag if you want more energy and distance.

If you are looking for a semi auto,  there is the mosquito, but we get that gun back more than others for cycling problems.  That gun can be extremely fussy!  There is the Browning Buckmark, a very nice semi auto that shoots well and does not have nearly the complaints of the mosquito.  There is also an inexpensive Walther PPK, but again, has its problems with cycling.  The Ruger semi auto is a good gun, the 2nd best selling auto loader in the store.

Hope this helps, I work in a large sporting goods store in Mich. and we sell piles of 22 handguns every year.

    Good luck

  5. Cheap?

Do you mean cheap garbage pistol? Jennings, Cobra Enterprises Inc

Do you mean inexpensive pistol? Ruger MK III Standard, Hunter, 22/45, S&W 22a several variants, Browning Buckmark. $250-450 or I can show you standard production .22 LR pistols that retail $900-1350. Then there are Custom guns.....

  6. A .22 pistol.

It would take more work to find an expensive .22 pistol, than a cheap one.

  7. I would buy a good Ruger mark 2 ot mark 3,you may find one at a local gun shop or gun show/at a reasonable price remember if for use as home protection a cheap gun may not be ther when you depend on it the most, also would buy quality ammo.

  8. I can understand someone wanting a 22 pistol but calling it "Cheap" says a different thing to me.  Inexpensive, economical, low cost, all would better describe the gun. Cheap to me says poorly made throw away guns.  Which makes me wonder why anyone would want a gun like that? And it also sounds very juvenile.  Are you old enough to legally own a gun or is that why you want something "cheap" so you won't have to go through the legality of buying a gun at a licensed gun store?

Consider saving your money and buying a good reliable middle priced .22 pistol that will last a life time.

  9. Why???????  A .22 can certainly protect your home, as will a ball peen hammer, a pen knife, and a short piece of 2x4. If you are willing to wait for the ideal conditions. The burglar may not, though. Do yourself a favor and buy a single shot 12 or 20 gauge. Cut the barrel to 18" and make sure overall length is at the 26" mark. You will have an affordable and formidable home defense weapon. That will be much cheaper than a .22 pistol.
