  1. Well I am a college student living in CA.

I can vouch that California has many malls, has alot of natural beauty (if you are interested in walking around everynow and then) and has some of the best colleges in the US.

It HAS its share of crazy people, specially in LA.

I live in San Diego and I like it better than LA, but it also has its crazy ppl.Im afraid youll find people like that anywhere. Las Vegas, Im afraid has much more than LA.

As for climate CA has its extremes of heat peaking at 115 in some areas near desert. And going as low as 5 in mountain areas. But cities are usually in the range of 15-90s for the most part (depending on the season).

I know Arizona's phoenix and Nevada's Las Vegas get to over 120 in summer and less than 5 in the winter. And its a very dry environment.

On the plus side, La Vegas is a party city, ALOT of malls and well...apartments have air conditioner and heaters...so it also depends how much you want to go out in Summer and Winter without being too hot or cold. You get me?

As for money, CA is one of the most expensive states in the US, but you gain more of course, usually over 7/hour and in some places (like San Diego) you gain over 8/hour.

In CA you are also minutes away from the beach, since you are going to college, Beach, Malls, Good Jobs and Climate are crucial arent they?

And of course you have, like I said, some very good Colleges in all of CA.

I know Arizona has good colleges too, but Im not so sure of Nevada.

I would also recommend you dont limit to cities like Las Vegas, or LA...look for other cities nearby...it could be better and its just a few hours away from those cities.

My Overall Recommendation of Places in those states would be

    1- LA

    2- Arizona

    3- Las Vegas

I hope this helps and you find what you want :)

    Best of Luck

  2. Arizona is too hot and not a whole lot to do. California is probably good for you but it is full of crazy people and the laws and taxes there aren't good. Nevada, especially Las Vegas is the best ... tons of shopping 24 hrs a day and lots of night life. A great melting pot of people from all over the world.

  3. If you do not want many crazy people, better revise your list.  LA and Las Vegas are jammed to the brim over flowing with nut cases prowling the streets all hours of the night and day.

I'd look into Phoenix as a more central location between the other two, it does have it's share of crazies though I had not noticed them thick about as the other two.

All three locations you have selected are hot, heat wise and a limited seasonal change within the city itself.  LA gets ungodly in the summer with the smog, Las Vegas suffers air inversions as does Phoenix to a lesser degree.  Check the local temps and air quality indexes over the next few weeks to get a comparission.

Prices in LA for everything will be slightly higher than the other two, but only slightly.

Not knowing what other criteria you are using it is hard to offer any more pros and cons.

  4. LA has the beach while AZ and NV/Vegas are in the high desert no beaches.  Vegas has a 24/7 nightlife as well as the regular city like LA and AZ.

LA has HIGH income taxes.  NV does not have income tax.

Vegas has two major outlet malls and more than three shopping malls plus lots of strip malls.

But know that the cost of living in Vegas is high and jobs are hard to find right now due to the economy.
