What's Buccleuch Place, Edinburgh like?

I will be moving to Edinburgh in September and will be living in a student flat on Buccleuch Place. Anyone know anything about this area? Do you know what these flats are like? Do you know how they're furnished? Was this a good choice or will I be disappointed and/or ripped off?

As you will be in a student flat, I'm guessing you are a student - though unlike another responder I don't see any clue as to which of the four Universities you are attending, and depending on your subjects you might be very handy for classes if you are an Edinburgh University student, or might not be as they have a number of centres (King's buildings is some time away). Napier University is easily connectable by bus from there, the other two Heriot-Watt and Queen Margaret more tricky as they are both well out of town.

Nice safe area generally - excellent for the city centre, in the middle of a student community. If you are near the East End of the street you will have a lot of night-time noise from the nearby pubs and those making theirt way home, further along much quieter.  

Late Victorian buildings, generally good-sized rooms, it all depends on the individual landlord as to the condition and furnishings - perhaps ask for some pictures? If it is University (of Edinburgh) owned then they will be clean and of a good basic standard.

Guessing not the cheapest choice, but that's as it is a very good location...

your lucky,buccleugh pl is a nice area,so close to university you could practically fall out of bed and into the classroom,its central,near to all transport routes,near pubs clubs,meadows,what more could you wish for,also near arthurs seat,good takeaways nearby,lots of shops in nicolson st(including polish deli )youll love it!

It is in the middle of student land. You will like it if you're a student. Bring plenty of money.
