  1. 3 downs, 110 yards and bigger field.

  2. You play on a much wider field, to be successful up here you must have a lot of endurance as it is harder to cover players up here with the much larger field.

You play it the same way, though there are differences....you

    1. get a single on punts that go through the end zone

    2. get a single on missed field goals that go through the end zone

    3. No touchback, its a safety.....a player who kneels down in the endzone gives up 2 points, unless it is an interception.

    4.  The field is 110 yards long....the 55 yard line is the Centre of the field.

    5.  We only have 3 downs to get a first down, if not done then the other team takes over at that point of scrimmage.

    6.  we only get 20 seconds to run a play, while i believe the NFL gets 45

    7.  We only have 2 timeouts in a game, one in the first half and 1 in the second half

    8.  we have 8 teams in the league, so top 6 make it

    9.  Top team in each division gets a bye

    10.  2 divisions, east and west, both have 4 teams.

    hope i helped you :-)

  3. sub-1120 covered the differences quite well.  I actually prefer Cdn football...I find it more exciting..more passes etc.

Actually, I just got home from a game.....watched the Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeat Hamilton Tiger Cats 21-19

Game was undecided until the last play.

  4. It's a fair bit like the American version.  Canadian game is more pass oriented.
