Hi I'm a sophomore and am going to be taking Chemistry Honors next year, but i don't even know what sort of material is considered chemistry, or will be in the course. So if you have already taken the course, or know anything about it, tips and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. I'm taking high school chemistry during the summer and you will have to learn the: periodic table and how to make compounds from it like H2O and use some algebra to convert chemical formula's to moles, molecules and atoms. It's very conceptual because you can not see an atom, but the lab experiments help make it real for you. I like it because it explains how the stars which burn hydrogen created all the other elements that make up our universe.

  2. Hi, I am minoring in chemistry in college.  It's sort of like science with a bit of math in it.  Most likely unless you major or minor in it you won't use it too much in your life, but it is REALLY good for helping you develop problem solving skills.  It may seem really difficult at times, and irrelevant to anything, but believe me it will help you.  Good luck!, If you want keep my name on here and if you have any questions on any problems, email me!

  3. "Without Chemistry, Life Itself would be Impossible."

Chemical reactions, convert the food you eat into the energy you need to live and nutrients you need to grow.

Chemistry is used to produce plastics, batteries for hybrid cars, fuels for engines, life saving drugs, and gummy bears.

In General Chemistry you'll learn about the method used for scientific investigations, the structure of matter, how the electronic structure of atoms determines how various elements react with each other.  You'll get hands on training in the use of laboratory equipment and conduct experiments to see first hand how chemicals react.

    Good luck and pay attention.

  4. chemistry is all about loovee~~

and in some schools, they have labs and you experiment and write down and analyze things, theres a lot you have to memorize too, or they just give you a book to read and you have to learn from that which isnt good.

i prob didnt help at all sry....
