My husband just got orders for drill sgt there, and I'm wondering what kind of housing is available for us if we decide to live on post?

And just general info about the area from a military perspective.

Anyone know of any websites where I can get this kind of info?

  1. i was there for OSUT 5 years ago, during August until December, and alot of the time it was pretty warm, on the verge of being too hot, and sticky humid, althought I never felt humidity before that.  There is the Patton Museum, which is really nice, the whole post is mostly TRADOC now (training) so it means there are a ton of "by the book" soldiers their.

  2. lol,i was stuck in that h**l hole for three years.

if your husband got drill sgt orders your life is over, drill sgt life

involves 18 hour days.the only time you will see ur husband is when he is sleeping.

  3. I was there in August 06 and it was really hot.

If you live off post just be aware that Hardin County is a dry county.

  4. I hated Knox, housing is old and pretty much the whole base is old and  the surrounding area is country and redneck
