Hi,

I'll be going for overseas exchange to Tokyo for half a year, and will be staying in a dorm near Hiyoshi Station (Kanagawa) at Shimoda Student Village.

What's fun to do/shop/enjoy/explore within the region of the dorm or the station?

  1. It is Keio University's Shimoda student village and addressed

    59-7, Hiyoshi Honcho 2-Chome, Kohoku-Ku, Yokohama

The village is in quiet residential area and it takes about 15 minutes by walk from Hiyoshi Station or Keio Hiyoshi campus to there.

Hiyoshi is small town but skirts of the station there are many shops,   restaurants, amusement center and karaoke on streets and Tokyu department store is in the station building too.

The marking spot is the village. It is located on West from the station and Keio is on the contrary on East.

  2. Well, there is the Tokyu Department store at the Hiyoshi Station.  You can shop pretty much everything there, from clothings to food and drinks.  There are Muji and Uniqlo in the same building.  Hiyoshi is very convenient place, because you can easily go to Yokohama or Tokyo by Toyoko-line.  There always are a lot of students from Keio University and other schools mingling around the Hiyoshi station.  It's very lively place for a small college town.  Probably you can ride a bike to anywhere from your dorm.  You can park your bike at the underground bicycle garage at Hiyoshi station, which is pretty new.  There are good Ramen shops, Mister Donuts shop and a few Izakaya type drinking houses.  Enjoy your stay at Hiyoshi!  You'll love the small town convenience.
