Releasing tax returns is a matter of routine. We believe the Clinton campaign should meet that routine standard and meet that routine standard now," Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters.

Obama's campaign said Clinton's tax records were important because of questions about her $5 million loan in January to her campaign and about Bill Clinton's income from an investment company -- headed by donor Ron Burkle -- that invests in tax shelters.

"Senator Clinton can't claim to be vetted until she allows the public the opportunity to see her finances -- particularly with respect to any investment in tax shelters," Gibbs said in a statement.

when you consider the obvious income switch from cattle futures to tax shelters by hillary, will we ever know what the stalling tactics are meant to hide?

10 ANSWERS

  1. When she has the slightest of chances getting into office.

  2. She'd still make a better president than a black n**i terrorist.

  3. Well the records will help us know how she was able lend herself (campaign) five million of her own dollars. I am sure such documents are released for good reasons beyond the loan.

  4. She is afraid the truth will come out that she and Janet Reno are sisters~

  5. Those records will most likely show that Hillary has many foreign friends.

    - like always before

  6. They say April 15th or so...but then again anything discriminating will be blacked out.

  7. The clintons need to be investigated by the IRS, the FBI, and all of the alphabet outfits.

  8. Lies, lies and more lies that the Clintons tell....that is what she is hiding.

It is possible she can’t get to her taxes due to the fake sniper fire.

  9. Personally, I don't think her tax records will reveal anything unusual. Mainly because, in true Clinton Crime Family fashion, they are (no doubt) altered for politics-sake. I'm sure the Clinton's have financial dealings under cover that would have made Al Capone blush. Anyway, a good lie always takes time to be perfected. And the longer one repeats it, the more it seems like the truth. Just ask the Clinton's best friends, the media, they are fountains of misinformation and doctored data. Such is life in political circles...

MR. TACO: Her financial history is a matter of public concern. Whenever a person opts for political office it is necessary to find out whether or not their funding is from legitimate/legal sources.

  10. I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, I can't help but wonder what she is hiding. On the other hand, would YOU want people nosing into YOUR personal financial matters? Of course not. Arguably this is a Constitutional matter. What right do we really have to look at one another's financial information? Does being in public office REALLY make a difference? You can certainly answer "Yes it does!" And you may be right... but I still think most of us would not want to show our taxes even if we DIDN'T have anything to hide. Even if it turns out that she is legitimately and legally richer than a Texas oil man, it will still reflect badly on her.
