What's LittleBigPlanet???

Hi, I'm a new PS3 owner, and I've been hearing a lot about Littlebigplanet. But I don't know what kind of game it is and why it's so popular. Can any of you tell me what type of game it is and why it's so great? What can you do in it? And, is it only for kids, because from the pictures I've seen of it it looks like a kids game.

Developed by Media Molecule, LittleBigPlanet is a new PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) computer entertainment system community-based game with a hugely innovative concept behind it.

Players meet on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots - and use their character's amazing abilities to play, create and share what they build with other gamers throughout the world via PLAYSTATION Network.

The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character's powers to interact physically with the environment. There are places to explore, creative resources to collect and puzzles to solve - all requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As soon as players begin their creative skills will grow and they will soon be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings - the first step to sharing them with the whole community.

Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to view and play. There is no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learned by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the gameplay experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it's ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch - or can go and explore everybody else's.

It is nearly impossible to say how awesome this game is in another 20000 characters. Basically you create your own level. To a point where you really create your own level. Like seriously create your own level. I mean you really really REALLY create...your own level. With like, the most intuitive, huge, impossible awesome level creator thing ever made.

then you upload it to the huge online community, who download it, play it , rate it, comment on it, and such.

If it's really good you get rewarded with the ability to charge for it, making you have the potential to become a LBP thousandair.

Look at some youtube videos, the game has virtually unlimited replay value, it is not just for kids, it really, really, really isn't. This is coming from someone who plays Call of Duty 4 and Half Life and Assassin's Creed and is extremely dissapointed in the wii's casual games output.

This game is going to be awesome.

You run around with this little (customized) sackboy dude.  You create (levels), play (other people's levels) and share (your created levels).  It has a 2d look to it.

The whole idea of the game is to play, create, and share.  A lot of people say it's a kids game etc. but with unlimited customization abilities and great options, it's a game for everyone.
