  1. From articles I have read here and there I gather that the Queen retains a preference for simple english food.

She normally has toast and marmalade, and tea,for breakfast.  She is fond of the traditonal Sunday roast dinner, and she likes cucumber sandwiches, scones and dundee cake for afternoon tea.  Since she is fond of country pursuits, and very much into shooting etc, I would imagine that she probably likes game, pheasants, duck, woodcuck etc.

I read somewhere that Prince Philip is partial to barbeques and used to do them for the children.  He also likes to do a bit of cooking in the kitchen now and again, producing supper dishes like scrambled eggs.

  2. I'll run to her palace and ask her....

  3. I saw a TV show about her a few years ago, and one thing I remember is that she has the same thing for breakfast each day: a type of cookie called Marie Biscuits, while she waits for her bath to be drawn: an exact amount of inches deep at an exact temperature.

Personally, I'd be fine with people "in the know" telling "outsiders" my favorite foods and whatnot.  The only thing I'd be worried about is well-wishers sending me thousands of tins of Marie Biscuits just because I said I like them!  LOL, right?

  4. The Queen likes a big Greek sausage ...thats what I heard anyway . . .

  5. I don't believe the people who are actually in "the know" are willing to break the code of protocol and silence that surround the royal household.

But - that being said - didn't one of the tabloids have a reporter apply and be hired as a palace footman?  I thought that they serialized several amazing "discoveries" in their rag.   Perhaps there would be something there?

  6. Dogs droppings.....

  7. I'm not sure but i was watching a documentary once and it said that the queen likes her beef cooked much longer than most peoples at state dinners and parties

she likes a well done joint of beef
