What's The Best/Greatest College Game You Actually Watched ...?

I'm extremely biased since I'm a Die-Hard Dawg fan! My first and greatest game is/was the Sugar bowl against Notre Dame. Georgia won that game en-route to a 12 - 0 undefeated season. The only one in Bulldogs history. The next greatest game for me was the game during the 1979/1980 season when Buck Belue threw the pass to Lindsay Scott and he raced to the end zone to preserve the 12 - 0 undefeated season! The next greatest game for me is any and all games won by Georgia over any team in the SEC which includes every game played by them! Especially over Florida, Auburn and Tennessee! What's your favorite and greatest games you watched? Thanks!

  1. 2004 oklahoma vs oklahoma st.  oklahoma was ranked in the top 3 if not number 1.. jason white won the heisman the year before and adrian peterson was a freshman...as anyone who is a sooner fan knows when its bedlam (ou vs osu) or red river rivalry (ou vs tx) you can throw records, stats, and rankings out the window.  the game was in stillwater so the crowd was going crazy.  as a sooner fan there it was interesting.  it was 38-35 with seconds left in the 4th quarter and osu was kicking the field go to tie and to go to ot.  the kick was wide and ou won.  it was the best game i had ever been to

  2. 2006 National Championship with Texas vs USC vince young blew my mind with how amazing he played and the game was exciting from start to finish

  3. I hope they win it all this year as a SEC fan, but think it will be very tough to make it through the conference unscathed.

The three most memorable games in my mind are:

Nebraska - Oklahoma scoring fest on Thanksgiving Day back in the 70s on Thanksgiving weekend.  Johnny Rodgers was brilliant and it was a war. Johnny Rodgers was a Heisman Winner / Pro Bust combination.

Gene Stallings' 'Bama Tide team taking Miami apart when Miami was supposed to crush them.  Somebody forgot to notify Alabama's defense - they annihilated Miami.  QB Gino Teretta of Miami was a Heisman Winner, Pro Bust combination.

Ohio State's win over Miami in the early 2000s when Miami was supposed to win back-to-back National Championships.  It wsa the best demonstration of the Interior Defense Line completely devastating a powerhouse offense that I have ever witnessed in college.  Total dominance of the entire game as a result of exceptional line work. Amazing.  OSU's starting tailback and gamechanger ended up under arrest for assault, and was a pro bust at Denver Bronco's camp.

Edit:  I do have to add the Texas victory over USC.  Incredible game where EVERY single play mattered, and you couldn't afford to leave your seat even for a moment.

  4. 2006 Rose Bowl. Texas vs USC. 2 undefeated teams. 3 Heisman Trophy finalists. 2 Heisman winners. Way too many future NFL players. 2 high power offenses. 2 shut down defenses. Pete Carroll vs Mack Brown. 90,000 fans. It was back and forth. It came down to whether or not Vince Young can carry the team and he did it.

  5. It was in 1981 in Laramie Wyoming.  Jim McMahon and his BYU team came into Laramie and played in a Blizzard vs. The Wyoming Cowboys.  McMahon was a heisman trophy candidate and BYU was highly ranked.  Snowing like h**l (all roads in and out of Laramie were closed) and McMahon could not throw in snow.  Wyoming beat BYU 33-20 and wrecked McMahon's trophy chances.  Great game to be at.

  6. 2006 OSU/Mich #1 vs #2...winner goes to national championship game....OSU 42, Mich 39.  GREAT GAME

there have been many, but I just can't remember specifics, but I can tell you that I miss watching a great Florida vs a great Florida State game, I thought those were some of the best games

2 national championship games...OSU/Miami....nobody expected OSU to win, and it ended up being a great game...also USC/Texas, a great game as well

  7. 2007 Fiesta Bowl, Boise State vs. Oklahoma Sooners

  8. I was at both the WVU - Louisville game 3 years ago and the WVU Rutgers game 2 years ago.  Both went into triple OT and were just flat out crazy.

  9. Im a die-hard Auburn fan. So I would have to say 2005 Auburn-Georgia Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. Auburn won 31-30. They show it all of the time on CSS and College Flash Classics. But I also love USC-Texas Rose Bowl Game. And Auburn-LSU this past year. Although we lost 30-24 with 0:01 left, it was still a great game.

  10. Boston College vs Miami.

Doug Flutie's hail mary as the clock ran out was awesome.

A back and forth high scoring game I will never forget.

  11. In my opinion, it had to be Ohio State vs. Miami in the 2002 National Championship Game. Double Overtime!

  12. I have to that I can't decide on which is better. The first one is Texas vs USC. When USC went ahead by 12 with 6:30 left I thought it was over. Then Texas stopped them on 4th down and got the ball. Then on the 4th and 5 play that I will never forget Vince Young ran it in for the TD and I went crazy. The other won is the 2007 Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma. I hate the sooners and one of my family members works for Boise State so I like Boise State so that was a perfect combination. When Zabransky threw the pick that gave OU the lead I was so pissed. Then the hook n ladder I couldn't believe it. To end the game the statue of liberty it was just incredible. They were both really awesome games.

  13. i think it was arkansas versus lsu this past year.

    arkansas won i believe.

  14. even though it was the BIGGEST BS AND BIGGEST FLUKE AND BIGGEST HEARTBREAK I EVER SEEN, THE 2002 National Championship between OSU* and Miami

    Other games of note

Miami vs. Florida, Miami down 25 going into the 4th and winning it

    OU vs. Boise St.

Any of the Wide Right FSU vs. Miami and the Wide Left game.

  15. Either Arkansas vs LSU or Texas vs USC in the rose bowl a couple of years ago. Those games I actually watched

  16. maryland miami believe it was 85 or 86 miami was up like 30-0 at half and frank reich led maryland back to win like 42-39
