Up to this point, getting married 5 years ago.  I really love my wife, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.  I can't imagine not being married now, even though when I was younger, I never thought I would.

I was travelling in eastern Turkey and lost my friends and missed my bus. I was taken in with a family who didn't speak any languages that I spoke - they were Kurdish and they fed me and looked after me, welcomed me into their village and I stayed with them for a week before getting on the bus back to Istanbul. They would not let me pay them for the food I ate and were absolutely the kindest most generous people I have ever met. Restored my faith in the basic goodness of humanity.
