What's The Cost Of Starting An Ice Cream Business In The US?

My grandfather was in the ice cream business and father was into small scale real estate development in Ohio. I'm looking to combine both of their passions by starting an ice cream shop of my own. Right now I'm looking into location costs and keen on quality business plans that I can adapt to my own startup. Believe it's an 'evergreen' classic American business to be in.

  3. How much you profit from your ice cream business depends mostly on your choice of location. It's the single most important factor to make your ice cream business successful. Costs range from $50,000 (or less) for an existing shop, to about $200,000 for a shopping mall spot, and a lot more for free standing AAA+ locations.

For most entrepreneurs, buying an existing shop is the best way to lower the cost of starting an ice cream business. Construction & design costs depend on the part of the country you're in, though it's estimated at $80-100 per square foot in the US.
