What's The Difference Between Regular Colored Pencils, And Prismacolor Colored Pencils?

  1. Prismacolor pencils are a much higher grade of pencil.  They use a higher grade of pigment and bonding agent.  The result is that you can get bright vivid colors that simply aren't possible with regular colored pencils.

    Also, if you are trying to use a burnishing technique in your artwork, you are less likely to damage your paper with the more expensive Prismacolor pencils.

    Finally, you have less chance of having to fight "wax bloom" with the more expensive ones.

    I use Prismacolor exclusively.  The are fantastic and I will never go back.  


  2. prismacolor are better cause the color stands out more than a regular color pencil the prisma color pencil makes the art work look beautiful

  3. Prismacolors are of a finer-quality than, say, regular ol' crayola colored pencils for example. The pigment is more fade-resistant, vibrant, and the leads are very soft.
