What is wrong with being a protective older brother???

Some people say I'm too protective of my little sis.

I'm 16, she's 13.

Well having a protective brother hanging over your shoulder tends to scare off any boys whether they are nice or not. So your sister probably wouldn't like that. Protective brothers sometimes overstep the line and try and to tell their sister who they can and can't be with, and what they can and can't do.

its extremely annoying. its one thing to have two parents telling you what not to do but then to also have a 3rd parent is flat out annoying.

she need to learn her own life lessons, if there is real reason and she asks for help, then help her, but otherwise butt out and let her live her own life, she is her own person and have the rigth to make her own choises

there is a difference between being responsible and avaliable, and being overprotective and strangeling

be her brother and her friend, dont become a 3rd parent, she already have 2 of those

as her brother you should seek to take on the friend job that makes her comforable to confide the things she wont to her parents, sometimes we wont tell our parents things because they will be too overbearing and restricting instead of helping us to deal with it ourself, this is where an older sibling can come in. I played the rolle myself and had older sibs i could confide in, we backed eachother instead of trying to parent eachother

you are not too protective of your sis if she doesn't count on her big brother to protect her then who is going to protect her

well i'm the younger one and i'm super over protective of my older sister and my younger nieces... but nothing is wrong with it

It's annoying! let her be but of course interfere if there's a problem. She want's to be her own person without anyone breathing down her neck.
