What's Wrong With My Bike Wheel?

I have a bike that you can pedal freely forwards and backwards. If you're lucky you can get it to catch and pedal forward, but if you stop pedalling it will spin free again. What should I do?

  1. have fan with the bike and be careful good luck

  2. Like most bikes today, BMX bikes have a freewheel. It does just what is says, it allows the wheel to spin freely when moving forward and not pedaling. It's the thing that makes that clicking noise when you coast. I bet yours doesn't make that sound or its week. You've probably stripped it. Any good bike shop should be able to get you a new one for a reasonable price of about $25.

  3. The coaster hub is shot or broken. The pawl or spring might be broken. Many of these hubs can be repaired by a shop.

  4. probably faulty gears or chain or deraulleir

  5. just sell it
