What's Wrong With My iPod?

I finished watching a movie on my iPod and it wasn't locked. But the only thing u could do was scroll and that's all. I tried plugging it in to my comp but I'm jus gonna let the battery die. Will that work and if not what should I do?

do the emergency thing and hit the center button and the main menu button and it'll turn it off

You'll need to reset it by holding down the play button for over 5 seconds or more, than after a minute or so turn it on.
